Things I Have Learned Since Becoming a Newlywed

Hello to all! This is the very first time I'm posting on my blog, and I'm super excited about it! Hopefully, you will stick with me. I've created this blog as a place to share things that I've made (as well as directions), new recipes that I've tried, some awesome books that you should definitely read, and whatever happens to be on my mind at the time. I am sorry if things look a little sloppy, but this is the first time I've ever done this, so it is a learning experience.

Thursday will make two months of marriage for my husband and I, and I must say that I've learned a lot in this short amount of time. What have I learned? I'm glad you asked.

Things I Have Learned Since Becoming a Newlywed:

1. No matter how many times you check the pockets of your pants, coins will ALWAYS find their way into  the dryer. ALWAYS. It doesn't matter how many times you open the dryer, and dig through the wet clothes, you will not find them. During the drying cycle, they turn into ninja coins. Usually, this is how I feel after a 60 minute drying cycle.

2. They'll be back. In greater numbers. When the house you move into has sat empty for several years, prepare for war. I have killed more spiders here than I've ever killed, which is fine for me, but terrible for a husband who has arachnophobia. If you ever want to hear Josh scream like a girl, just point at a random spot on the wall, and yell, "Spider!" Regardless of the hubby's fear of arachnids, spiders aren't the only thing you have to watch out for. Mice. Oh yes, we have had our share of mice since we moved in. And don't be fooled by years of enchanted mice from Disney movies. The first time I realized that we had a mouse, this is what my cartoon-filled brain saw:

But after catching three more mice, and having to sanitize everything in the kitchen for a third time, this is what I began to see instead.

3. When you leave it alone, laundry multiplies.I am a procrastinator, so I feel very accomplished when I do a load of laundry, then dry, fold, and put it away. It never fails, however, that there is always more to do, even for a two person household like Josh and I. I feel as though if we actually wore all of the clothes that I wash, we'd change outfits at least twice a day. Of course, we don't. Therein lies my theory: Laundry multiplies.
I feel as though I wash a load of laundry, and leave with only a few items in the bottom of the basket. When I come back, there is a mountain of laundry saying, "Surprise! Don't forget to wash us too!"

There you are. A few things that I've learned in my first few months of marriage. I'm nearly positive there will be a part two to this post later on. For now, I'm going to go back some yummy looking Oreo cheesecake bars. If they turn out good, I'll post the recipe later!
